Vr Idle Misfire - Solution (i think)

good news, thinks ive found my missfire at idle problem, i thinks its the MAP sensor on the firewall. i tested this before (when i first got car 7mths ago :O)
with out sucess,

but alot of work has been done to it since then and it still misfires at idle, any way a mate had a spare vp map sensor (he wasnt sure if it was working 100% so i tried it any way)

any way i tested it and WOW now more miss at idle, reversed out garage and left idle bit longer,,,, but the revs started going all crazy, droping down low then picking up again, kept doing this.

took mates map sensor out and put my old one back in.. misfire at idle but no rev issues..

im thinking of buying a new one from holden in a fnite (payday) and hopefully this will sort the problem out once and for all !!!!

once i get the new sensor ill post and let you all know how it went

have you replaced the ignition leads and sparkies,sounds like that could be it,my mate had the same problem is his VS,i suggested replacing leads as sparkies were new,now his car runs like a dream

i checked the sparkle resistance according to the manual, it should be ok,,,
anyway, i will replace it to see if she will like a dream,,haha,

god i thought this thread died.. i replaced the MAP sensor (with a brand new one, cant remeber how much it cost) when i had this problem, and fixed it

May I ask how much the map sensor cost you please?

u can get a map sensor for about 65-80bucks @ holdens

iam getting a aftermarket one for about 55 thur a mate
