Hi all, Strange thing happened tonight. I started my car and noticed the battery light on ABS Off and airbag warnings being displayed in the cluster. I have never had this happen on this car and was surprised when it all happened.
I switched off the car and re started and they all came back on. I decided when I got home (only a couple of mins drive) I would look into it.
I hit a small bump and the batt light and abs off went out. I tried a re start of the car then and now they are all out.
Anyone experienced this?

Thanks for looking.

Looking forward to your thoughts

check your battery terminals and all your earths.
if they are ok, it may be the brushes in your alternator
this happens when the system is running out of power, it switches non essential systems off to conserve power for vital systems.
so you can get out of trouble rather than being stuck on the side of the road.

I would say it's your battery terminals , or your battery low on volts .

Thanks guys,

Battery terminals and earths look good. It has only happened the once at this stage.

It always cranks over good when I start it but ill get the battery tested anyways.

I'm leaning towards the alternator at this stage but hard to tell as it hasn't happened again.

Fingers crossed

batt is only 12 months old. the prob hasn't reappeared and car is behaving like it never happened.
I'm keeping an eye on it and have a multimeter on hand if it does happen again
Thanks for all your thoughts

Maybe check the alternator brushes.
I'm suggesting this as you may have hit a bump and they have decided to contact the armature again after being stuck.
