Default B&M Shiftplus Electronic Shift Improver

    Hello to all,

Has anyone here installed one of these to their Commodores, and have they noticed any Difference in gear changes???

ShiftPlus simply recalibrates your transmissions hydraulic system electronically. The ShiftPlus shift firmness not only makes driving more fun and pleasurable, but slippage and heat are reduced extending the life of your transmission! Anyone can install a B&M ShiftPlus in minutes with a few simple hand tools. This new design allows you to improve the transmissions shifting performance without removing the transmission pan or valve body. The B&M ShiftPlus electronically enhances shift quality and is adjustable. A simple flip of the switch allows the transmission to operate in the performance mode. Flip it back and you are back to stock!

    Question

I am intrigued as to how this works and what it does, anyone with a link to where I could find some more product information on this?

Ok basically what it does is forces the trans to change gears faster instead of the normal where the bands stretch to change gears.

    Thanks everyone for the replies.

i bought on on the weekend... and istalled it...
    cost me $70

i've tucked all the cables away and fitted the switch (Thanks to natsvr for the link, it proved very helpful) i have fitted the B&M Shift Improver inside the ashtray all nice n hidden and stealth.

i've been on a few drives with it and the shift's feel alot more firmer (Switch has 3 modes "Off" and "Mode 1" and "Mode 2") Mode 2 seems alot firmer....

as for making the wheels "chirp" when it changes gears.... nup... it seems to make the Auto Transmission shift harder and faster...

and on my test run after i installed it.... i lined up at a set of lights against a "playfull" over zealous s40 2.0T Volvo was ducking in and out of traffic to battle to the front of the lights. I chomped him easily...

***Conclusion*** fun mod for ya car for $70

The vpw site requires you to have a credit card, anyone know where l could get one with paying by direct deposit or anywhere local? What would be a likely store to be able to get them in?

    Ey Guys

I odered my Shiftplus with a maxed out credit card and VPW simply called me and told me i could pay for my shiftPlus via COD, thought Australia POst. So you dont need to wait for a credit card 2_seek_U just call VPW and arrange it via Ausi POst. Their contact number is (03) 8405 9500 so jus give them a call. It cost me $68 dollars all up including postage, and iam situated in Geelong.

    Goodluck

Ps- went 4 a drive in the rain before, and swtiched the shiftPlus on lets jus say when it hit second gear i had to put my cigi down and start concentrating

hi i am just wondering what engines do you guys have V6 or V8 that have tested the shiftplus as i have a V8 and chirp the wheels when changing from 1st to 2nd every now and then. I am just wondering if this would make the wheels chirp all the time or make the car kick out a bit.

I wouldn't recommend this mod as all it does is electronically increases the line pressure. If you wanna chirp it into second then go to Repco and get a corvette servo and give the force motor a quarter turn (increases line pressure) will cost you like under $40 and is strengthening the gearbox a bit (ie:corvette servo)
