ok well i just got myself a vr ss and was wondering what sorta power i should expect out of it.

here are details as follows:

5l extractors and twin 2.5 exhaust
auto stage 2 shift kit
3.45 diff
stage 3 cam
port and polish heads
forged pistons
70mm throttle body
hsv cai
160k

motor was rebuilt at 145k with all the goodies chcked in.

a mate works with a guy who has similar stats except for no port and polish and recons he got 240rwhp with a good tune. i was guessing maybe 250rwhp but now dunno.

what are your thoughts?

stock is:
Power 165kW @ 4400rpm (at the fly)
Torque 385Nm @ 3600rpm-3600rpm

but around 240 rwkw would sound about right maybe more? a dyno would tell you for sure:)

Hard to tell the exact power since all motors are different but I can tell you with those mods, it makes for an awesome street car, more than enough power to have some fun. Nice car.

ok heres what i reckon you will get at the rear wheels, with those mods you will have about 220 kw at the flywheel, that is about 280/290 hp,you loose about a third of your power through the gearbox, tailshaft, diff,so the power at the rear wheels would be around 190 bhp,
cheers
