does anybody know how to get rid of corrosion on the battery terminals and battery terminal leads.

Boiling water straight from the jug is best - just be careful and remember to wash the concrete floor under the car as it will leave a stain that nothing will remove!!. To make sure you don't get a repeat you can mix 2 teaspoons of Bicarb soda in a tumbler of warm water and immerse each terminal in this solution for 10 minutes or so. This will neuteralize any acid that is in the cable/terminal. Pour some of this solution over the terminals but do not allow any to mix with the battery acid inside the battery. When they stop bubbling you can coat the terminals and leads with either vaseline or silicone grease and re-connect. Good for 2 years at least if properly done and no more battery terminal problems..

if its heaps corroded give it a good sanding first to get rid of all the thick built up crap...then do what kowan and hako said.

clean it with a wire brush/hot water, then apply some grease... or petrolium jelly if u want it to look better
