gday all,
im the proud owner of a VR series 2 wagon which ive owned for just a week now and i overheard someone say that these cars need the rear main bearing seals replaced because they leak..is this true??? were the S2 better than the ones before it?? how much to get them fixed??
cheers
genrally speaking the series two had some of the little bugs fixed, if your seal is fine i wouldnt bother with it but if it is broke id fix it. Most car types have the little things that go wring with all of the same sorta car but then you might be lucky and have none of those things go wrong.
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!
Its a fairly expensive job considering the price of the part that they need to replace.. 90% of your bill will be labour.
The vs here has been leaking for about... 4-5 months now, we just keep an eye on the amount of oil in it and park it over a drip tray. Ideally it'd get fixed but we got quoted around 700 or 600 or something crazy.
