Cool Rev Limiter on VS V6 - Can it be changed?

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the rev limiter can be changed on a VS V6 Auto Eco Commodore. i.e. can the chip be reprogrammed to not rev out as much.
I want to change it from reving out a 5500RPM to 5000. Can it be done, and is it expensive etc.

    Thankx guys.

Its stored in the eprom. A simple change to the data can fix it... if you know someone that can do it, or even better if you can do it yourself

is there much more power to be gained by letting it rev out to 5,500rpm? (as opposed to 5,000rpm?)

i'll answer my own question!!! just pulled out my dyno sheet.

    power peaks at 4,800rpm.

    torque peaks at 3,600rpm.

so no extra power gain from letting her rev over 4,800rpm ????

thge only thing your going to gain out of holding your car till rev limiter is more revs in the next gear to utilise the power

stocky.. that's just cos you aren't giving it a chance to shift, the power drops back somewhat when you hit the limiter, hence the car has a chance to shift.
