does this only happen in park? or on the move also. if it sounds like a cylinder out it would sound something like a subaru. does the engine come good after the" thuding" noise. if so find wich cylinder is droping in and out and start from the basics

find wich cylinder is misfiring by pulling each lead off 1 by 1, with anything that is not metal, and then refiting!.......... be carfull not 2 get shocked. when u finaly come across a cylinder-lead, when you pull the lead off it doesnt make a difference to the runningn of the engine then check the lead 4 wear marks. if its ok then swap ya plug. if you done that then grab a mate withe the same car........ and try his coil pack

when the car comes back down to normal operating temp, try taking the radiator cap off while car is idling, which should'nt be a problem as the thermostat has opened and there is total circulation of of the cooling system, if the cooling system bubbles/spits at normal running temp for sufficient time then there is unidentified air getting into ur cooling system, if similar actions occur maybe head for some kind of pressure/head test at a radiator specialist.
