is the key fairly old? might be really weak battery.
Leave the key in the ignition on 'ON' to charge it.
Hope that helps...

Just realised the other doors work..
Probably just the drivers door's mechanisim.
If its just jammed, try a little bit of RP-7.

Sounds like the door lock actuator is buggered....

I don't think that they are all that cheap to replace either.... for a new one anyway. I probably wouldnt risk getting a second hand one, as you could run into the same problem a bit further down the track.

both of my VR's have sticky drivers side locks. they have never jammed, they just open maybe half a second after the others....just enough to hear the delay.

gotta remember they are ten years old though...

just went round the corner to a commodore wreckers and picked one up for 20
i was gonna buy a brand new one but they are 60-70 so i figure spend less and if it happens again i can get another 2 second hand ones and be cheaper lol

my vr has the same problem. I took the door trim off to check the wires but everything looks ok. I couldn't figure out how to actually get to the locking motor? Is there an easy way, like does the metal frame come off or something, or do you just need to reach inside? I called the Holden dealer down the road and they said "If they could get one in cause it was so old, it'd be $330 for the acculator, plus gst, plus fitting" which I thought was a tad excesive. Any suggestions in Perth where I could take it that might be cheaper? Cheers.
