hey guys
bought some 2nd hand heads a few weeks back and got some guy in qld doing some work to them (boring and polishing and sumin, i know absolulty **** all about motors lol). im getting this done as my valve steam seals are leaking and i may have a blown head gasket (not major just slightly) and ive always wonted worked heads so this is the time to do it all (save in labour in long run)

my question is, are the lifters in the head some were? coz my car has the dreaded lifter ticking atm. Just wondering if that'll be fixed with my workd heads?

The lifters are in the block under the inlet manifold.

The balance shaft can also make the ticking sound when the bearings are failing. Since the inlet has to come off to change the heads your mechanic will be able to check them when he has it apart.
