i need to remove the handbrake unit and fix it or replace it, i cant get it out.

anyone know how the shaft connects to the handbrake so i can undo it?

is it possible to remove the shaft from the handbrake or must i just unscrew the shaft from the handbrake cables that goto the wheels?

pull console out, undo the cable adjusting bolt all the way, undo the bolts that hold the hand brake lever in there, lift out.
