Just rebuit a stroker and have been told to reset comp, any ideas how?

i need to do the same ive been told t ohold at 3 grand for a certaint period of time i cant do that because my cars a little to loud in the neibourhood also if you disconnect the battery for a while not sure id like to know too

Disconnect the battery and hold the brake pedal on fully for about 1 min... leave it unhooked for about half an hour "just to be sure" and you should be good to go... it might take a couple hundred k's to relearn but you should be runnin sweet after first refill.

Removing and replacing the EFI fusible link, under the bonnet near the relay box, will restore the ECM to the (factory?) programmed default values.

onsta004 you didn't say but the ECM should have been/should be reprogrammed to suit the new engine.

thats right but you have to turn the key on but dont start it. let it sit for a min then turn it of and put the fuse back in

whats the go with holding the brake pedal down?

I tried puling out the engine fuse to reset it and i dont think it did!?
I think i may have to disconnect the battery....

Commodore 1988 VN Calais S1 V6
I was told by a Holden dealer that all you have to do to reset
the computer is to disconect the battery for a few minutes then
reconnect the battery and then take your car for a quiet drive
for five kms.
Then after this your computer is now reset and you can
drive your car the way that you normally drive it.
I have done this many times on mine and my wifes cars
and it has worked.
