The transmission in my V6 VS is acting strange, at full throttle it wont shift into the last gear instead it just bounces on the limiter(scared i'll blow the moter) this is at about 120kph. When crusing in eco mode at 80kph and i give it a touch of gas it vibrates the whole drive line, the same happens in power mode at 60kph. The trans is recently recoed only a few months old and the diff is recoed with LSD gears at the standard ratio. I guessing it might be sensor or something electrical, any help would be apreciated.

sounds like the torque converter's had it man. take it for a cruise and bring it slowly up to 80kph...when you feel the converter lock up bring your speed down and see if the vibration gets worse..even better try it on a small incline.
if it really stuggles its the converter.

If its only a cuppla months old take it back to where it was reco'd.

Auto Problems

I have a 1994 VR Wagon. The Trans was reconditioned about 3 years ago.
Now i notice that if i am cruising at about 80 to 100 kph and i go to accellerate a bit the drive line goes bang once or twice.
it doesnt do it all the time. But it sounds as if something in the trans lets go then locks up again making the drive shaft go bang:cry:

Sounds like the TCC or lockup clutch is cutting in and out. A service is your best option and keep your fingers crossed. Good Luck.

Do vs's have rev limiters or do you mean the redline?

Auto going Bang

I just remembered some years ago it did the same thing
I was the flamin Spark Plug Leads breaking down under load

Just got my trans rebuilt (better parts were put in), and my car doesnt have a rev limiter,as when my trans slipped it went to 6500rpm+.

all commo's have a rev limiter, unless its lifted higher, or disabled completely.

Doctor Bob can you confirm the limiter is set at 6250rpm?
