Latly i have been getting a crackling noise from under the car it sounds like stones are hitting the bottom of the car, when under a bit of throttle sumtimes doesnt matter if its hot or cold it makes the noise from the middle section of the car, i have had a new redback exhaust installed from the cat back, i thought that may have been the problem but the noise is still there, it is really irratating me.
Any advice guys thanx
maybe ur cat is stufd, my cat made that noise when it went on my vp.... rattle/shake it a bit when engine off see if u can hear same noise...
yeah thats what i reckon. check the cats. but an exhaust leak can make that noise too sometimes.
I would say that your catalytic convertor is stuffed but it you don't have the money to fix it then just turn up the stereo and drown out the noise. Cheers.
Have a look along the front seat mounting points from under the car to see if you have any cracking or splitting of the floor around the tunnel.
I have seen a VR floor pan crack from the drivers side rear inside mount and travel half way along the tunnel. The crack was about 250mm long.

My money is on cats... I've had them go before an it's a terrible sound..
Or exhaust leak at minimum...
