Hey folks... in need of wisdom again.

I'm trying to compile a shortlist of companies that will insure an under 25 with an S/C calais.. the car is currently in sydney and will need to be transported to adelaide.

Just Car - approx $1300 for unmodified, no idea with mods. will only insure me once car is in sa and registered locally.

SGIC - approx $2300!! but will let me insure for agreed value and have 24hr assist line.

anyone else? My quick look at car transport shows they usually provide a level of insurance... and i could get the car here on CTP and just get the sa rego happening ASAP so i can get it insured properly, but that is a little scary...

Doesn't look like they will cover me.

Really looking for someone who will do agreed value. Just cars have a semi-agreed value, but it seems they will only insure up to the purchase price + mods, and I'm not really too happy with that. Cost of replacing the calais could be several thousand more than what i'm paying for it.. so i'd be well screwed.

I went with ING insurance which is actually run by CGU insurance. Was with Just Car Insurance ($1300) for a few weeks then switched to ING for $400 less and up'd the agreed value by 2 grand. They also allow pay by the month at no extra cost. I think it is about $940 per year but I'm 26 and no mods.

Agh :(

Just cars will only cover the purchase price... which is low... i don't like..

SGIC is expensive.. but better policy... but.. well... expensive!

And I can't find anyone else :S No other major insurer will touch it.

Shannons won't touch it...

Swann.. never heard of them... but i'll have a look!

SGIC would come down by about $500 after the first year... so maybe go just cars for a year and behave myself... then go the decent insurance for the long term when it's more reasonable. $2300 for insurance is not happening at this point in time...
