1999 wh statesman
take it to a dealer and get the tech diagnostic done. and they can reset it with that. i had the same problem but it was my fault as i had the dash out and the ignition was turned on while the cluster was out so false reading was sent.
if you havent been stuffing around with anything and it came on by itself take it to a dealer and get it checked as it could go off premature and cause huge dramas better to be safe than sorry

If there is nothing wrong it can cost from $10 to $40 and takes 5 mins.

vs berlina
The AIRBAG warning light comes on when the airbag is not functioning correctly. ie it will not go off, even in an accident.
This happened to my vs berlina a while ago.
My mechanic used the tech diagnostic to reset it but it kept coming on still.
Ended up having to replace the "air bag clock spring" in the steering column.
It's only a $5 part but the airbag had to come out and ended up costing me $200 with labour!

Good idea to check the fuse hasnt blown. Simple things like that. Otherwise Id definatly be off to the mechanics for that one.
