g'day

i recently lowered my car ans when i turn there is a creeking noise from the front springs.
when i got my wheel alignment done the guy said that he thinks the springs are turing and not fixed completly.

any ideas,
do i need to replace the front shocks too?

Is there any clunking or just creaking/moaning? Could be the strut bearings - either way your shocks should be fine

its your strut bearings im pretty positive. I lowered mine and had the same problem. Turns out the bearing case in my front left strut was cracked (its plastic). Had to by new bearings and it fixed the problem. Im almost positive. Pull apart your suspension again and pull out the strut bearing and check if it moves freely.
hope that helps

cheers, thanks
when i jack the car off the ground the springs are not held firmly and can be rotated by hand. would this be a problem?

yeah springs turning by hand is bad- allowns bearing plate to move over bumps, cracking bearing case. but I doubt it'll be the bearings, as they make it clunk over bumps.
if it's a moan when turning, try the steering shaft through the firewall. I haven't looked myself, but have been told by a few reliable sources that the shaft isn't covered, and passes through a rubber grommet at the firewall...
