I have a '93 VR Berlina with climate air. The fan doesn't work on 1 or 2,and when it does work it only goes as high as 3. The fan motor works fine when power is applied directly.

its the resistor under the plastic stuff under wiper arms.. do a search been covered few times

Does the climate control have that resisitor as well??

What you need to replace is the Fan Amplifier, it is like the fan resistor, but it's not the same thing. I replaced mine in my VS last year, for $150 for the part only. I would imagine it is the same part for the VR.

The Fan amplifier is located under the windscreen wipers, under that plastic cover there is a little oval shaped cover, undo that, and its connected in there, has a massive heatsink attached to it.

Cool thanks, I just swapped over the one from my nissan and it fixed the problem. The nissan one doesn't fit properly but I'll find out which is cheaper and make it fit if I have to.
