After replacing my water pump I went to start it for the first time.

Cranked it, starter motor kicks in but wouldn't start. Tried again and again and again to no avail.

Figured I'd do the paperclip trick with the diagnostics. Nothing. No engine light at all.

Any ideas what this could be? All input muchly appreciated.

Wow, talk about checking the obvious. Was the engine fuse.

Good question, and I found the culprit.

I had my rocker cover gasket replaced a few weeks back by Holden. They managed to get the wires that run to the injectors trapped underneath the rocker cover before bolting it back on. They've managed to crush the wires which I imagine were shorting out on the engine. I did a quick fix with a bit of a electricians tape and now the fuse stops blowing.

Would anyone know what course of action I'd be able to take (especially since I've popped the bonnet myself, found the issue and applied a quick fix?)

Would taking it back with a baseball bat in my hand be unreasonable?

Ask to see the manager. Make sure you are well dressed and visit early in the week. Maybe wear a Holden racing team shirt or similar. Explain what happened to him and keep a smile on your face. Play it cool as you will find that they (Holden) are just human like the rest of us...do unto others etc...you know the drift. You may be pleasantly surprised.

You just have to speak to the right person at holden (unfortunatly). I find that some of them are holden enthusiasts who are keen to help and do things right and some of them are just there for the $. Probably like anywhere really.
