Hey all, my auto is dying and from the history of the VR(93) there r apparently no swaps u can do to replace the 4L60E box...what mod could i do, to change this as i am running on borrowed time.

very good question i have the same problem. thinking of getting a manual conversion to replace the auto gearbox. mine is also a 93 vr so yea im weighing up the costs of both. reconditioned gearboxes seem the way to go, but ive been told to get a vs gearbox if i can because the vr ones werent too good. so yea any help people can give would be much appreciated im sure.

Hey Betts, ya I thought about converting to manual, but like so many other people, I cant have my car off the road for a prolonged period of time. It is daily driver.

I recently had my 93vr in the trans specialist, he replaced 3 or 4 big round rings, I think he refered to them as clutches, I could be wrong there, anyway he had the car for the whole day and $700.00 later all is good, so maybe a rebuild is a better option? regards kirk

Hey Juzzy, I just noticed you live in Canberra, can you do me a favor? go and talk to costello b4 he dose the next budget, tell him to sort this fuel price or I might have to go to Canberra and sort him.
