Hey i own a vs commy an i think my auto gearbox is stuffed how to tell an how you think for a new one im also looking for buying a set of v ss rims 17s so if any one nos anyone selling leave me a number THANKS

If it is stuffed rebuild can cost between $1500-$2000

Shop around if your looking for a transmission recon, as price will vary from place to place.

my auto just gives out noises when slowing down for corners when put into reverse it clunks does anyone no actualy how to tell if its stuffed or do u actually have to go to a shop an get it looked at im not shore bout all this all the helklp i can get is great thanx

I rebuilt my auto gearbox and put all new pump,shaft and clutches in it for around $600...Just shop round, you might find one thats gettin wrecked.

Your best bet is to take it to an auto transmission specialist and ask for their opinion - if straight up they say its stuffed and want a changeover (~$2000) tell them you'll think about it and then get a second opinion from another auto place. Ask around to find out a reputable auto trans repairer because there are some cowboys around. There is a trade organisation for auto trans specialists so make sure they are a member of it (though still no guarantee). From you description it may not be the transmission but somewhere else in the driveline but thats just my opinion. Good Luck.

Check your diff and your tailshaft uni joints as both these can cause the same noises
