my manual gear changes are abit stiff if my clutch was screwed but doesnt feel like it would it make the gear changes stiff or would it just be the gearbox

Also if your clutch is on the way out, it would be really heavy and as SaGe said, it would slip. It may not slip all the time but it happens when shifting on higher revs. Best bet is to get it looked at. I also read somewhere to put it in top gear while stationary and release the clutch. If its stuffed it wouldnt stall.
I recently got my clutch changed (same box as yours). It started slipping really bad the night before to a point where I had to really baby it. Luckily enough I did not get stuck on the road.

its like when you rev the car up and hold the clutch halfway out.
you will know if its slipping.
is it adjusted properly?also there could be something in between the gearbox and the body makin changes harder at different times. i once had a stick caught and made changing into 2nd and 4th harder
