g'day all

Done my searching but i cant find anything,

When i start the car there is a sucking noise for about 5 or so seconds.

The best way i can describe it is that it sounds like when you are drinking through a straw and you get to the end and there is that sucking/gurgling noise.

Anyone had this problem..

Another thing i have found is that every do often 1 in about 10 times i start it idles very rough and shakes alot, then after 30 seconds of driving it goes... i'm thinking that it id one of the injectors???

cheers,
scott

the gurgling could be the heater pipes. very common, do a search for 'liquid behind dash' or something along those lines. does it happen occassionaly when driving too?

as for the other problem of rough idle, i have no idea sorry!

Intake manifold gasket. Same thing happened to my old mans V6 Rodeo, sucked the valley cover gasket in and had the same symptoms as yours.

With rough idle it has to be a vaccuum leak. It could be a gasket or more likely a vaccuum hose is probably got a split in the end of it. When the car comes up to revs the split seals itself.
