g,day i need photos and history on the vs slr5000 when it was made where it was made why it was made how many were made i own one and it is very hard to find info and pics if you have itwould be great

SLR 5000 is the name of TORANA back in the 70's though.
Where did you get this VS SLR 5000 concept from, i saw it as your ride, or is it what you are looking at possibly buying?

Yeah I was looking at one a while ago before I got my Calais... I think they were all one colour...."Black" with light grey paintouts around the bottom...

I heard they were just a limited special offer by dealerships...

My cousin has one, he bought it in brisbane, (second hand)
I think that he said there was about 77 made and about 10 were destroyed or stolen, so that leaves about 67 odd.
His has yella terra heads. Dont know if they were aftermarket or not?
Aparently its supposed to run high 12s on the quarter mile, but due to a gearbox problem, he hasnt run it yet
Yes they all were a black mettalic colour called "panther mica" i think

high 12's?!...get f*cked, no "special" or "enhanced" commodore can run 12's.
it takes a bucketload of money to get that sort of performance.
ive never heard of these slr5000 vs's anyway....

They do exist but no way in hell they ran 12's from std ..modified well yeah just like any car out there it would run a 12 sec pass.... they are Panther mica in colour with grey cut out stickers on the bottom of the rear doors that read SLR 5000 and had VL Walky 16" rims as for the interior they are nothing special just a commodore interior with (i Think) no climate control console. and the V8 was rated the same as the std VS SS. as 4 the build numbers ...... anyone?

mate i have seen one of these slr 5000 vs in melbourne many years ago.they do exsist but dont think there anything special,just like the vs manta
