I've Got a VSIII Statesman and the power steering died in it a while ago and it got fixed but now its started to make a noise like something is knocking when i go around corners (only when im turning right and over a certain speed) which started about a month of month and a half ago, would that be the power steering pump not pressurising properly or something in the suspension or what? any ideas?

also.. theres like a scraping noise coming from the automatic gearbox

and im trying to fit a new HU with a DVD screen, would anyone be able to tell me where the power wire for the handbrake switch is? because ive looked everywhere for it and cant find it

hmm, that knocking could be your sway bar link pin bush...common problem.
i dont quite understand what you mean by the trans making a scraping sound....is this like all the time? only during shifts? only in certain gear? what speed (if any) are you going when it makes this noise?...

the wire should run down the center of the console underneath the carpet. i think what you want to do is splice into it and send the signal to the dvd, you should be able to find a yellow wire underneath the head unit at floor level where the tranny wires go through the floor and that wire then goes back to the handbrake.
sounds like a suspension part usually it will be a link pin bush.
can you describe the scrape? is it only when you go over bumps?only when accelerating?etc

just had a thought. that wire might not have power. it may earth the wire out. I dont know how that switch works but i think that there will be power already supplied to the light and that the earth is switched. hope you can understand what i mean.

Yes p/brake lights normally switch an earth (1 wire), sound like shock absorber is buggered or the rubbers at the top where they mount,
have you serviced the g/box, remove sump there is a filter and magnet (clean this) in there and put fresh ATF fluid in. go to repco for a trans service kit, has filter and gasket. or go to a trans specialist.
