    Default VR Straight Steering

I just installed an Isotta steering wheel into my car, and noticed that when I’m driving, when I drive straight I hold the wheel turned a little to the right. Its not that bad but its noticeable. I’m not sure if it was like this with my stock steering wheel or not. Just wondering if this could be due to the way I fitted the new steering wheel and easily fixable? Or something else?

most likely your wheels were'nt dead straight when you put the new steering wheel on...what you need to do is drive it forward on a flat surface in a dead straight line...once your sure its straight take the centre nut off the steering column and spline the steering wheel around till its centred.

I had the sme problem when I replaced my VR sterring wheel with a VS one. No matter what I do, it's about half a spline either side of dead straight. I just got used to the fact.

This is proberly a bit of a stupid question, but would that fix it up? how much would I need to fork out for a wheel alignment?

no, in alot of cases it wont if your original steering wheel was straight....just do as i said before and spline it till its centred, a wheel alignment is a last resort.

ok...when you put the boss kit on you slide it onto the shaft right....
well that shaft has alot of small indented "lines" running down it, they're splines, so you move it a couple of splines whichever way needed to get it centred.

Why does everyone keep saying wheel alignment. What a waste of money. sircruisealotVS is exactly right. You installed the wheel on the wrong spline, just need to move it over one. I did my steering wheel a few weeks ago, took it for a drive, as same as you, found when going dead straight it would sit slightly off. So i pulled it off, moved it over one notch and its dead on now. Took no more than 15 mins. Dont waste your money and dont get a steering alighnment, thats not where your problem is.

    Default Getting the boss off

Did you use a steering wheel puller to get the old wheel off? Use that to get the boss kit off again, but dont forget to mark (with a scriber or texta) the boss kit AND the spline, so you know where it was so you can move it around one spline (tooth). If not you may have to make up something with a couple of bolts and a piece of steel and make your own puller. The boss kit should have a couple of holes that you can use for that, mount it up, tap it gently and remove.

    Shouldn't be too hard
