COME 4.2l stroker kit (bore block), good cam, lifters, new bearings throughout, bigger injectors, fuel pump and an S/C CAI.

Get some good power out of that or just go to a wrecker and pick up an S/C ecotec.

    Good luck with it.

no way you'll do any sort of decent build with that small budget...a few blokes around here have had their engines rebuild stock for $3k....which is about the norm for a proper rebuild.
what do you mean by "race v6"?....just to help work out what would be a suitable recommendation. what are you trying to achieve?..a daily driver with some extra grunt? a strip car for 1/4 miles? a burnout machine?
before you go out and spend any money, you need to work out what you want out of it (which by the sound of your post is what your brother was telling you).

well i just got a call from my brother and its the same guy that built his Torana Burnout motor, and because my brother does alot of work for this guy (auto Electrician, switched on auto elecs) he wont include labour and i have to get the 2nd hand motor myself so it should be about $4500-$5000 but hes gonna do it for $3500, ill try and find out exactly whats gonna be done with it because my brother is dealing with it as i know bugger all about motors i just want something tough all round
