02 sensor?
hrmm there are a heaps of threads about this have a look n see what ya get
Hi guys
My statesman drinks like a mofo!
Its currently showing 22L per every 100kms its a standard V6 ecotec
It should be around the 10L mark what could be causing the excess fuel consumption?
Cheers
02 sensor?

have u reset ur tip computer? try that first to double check
Yea it was reading 17L two days ago and then i reset it yesterday and it reads 22L
Thanks Sly vr these are the things that ive read to check
- O2 Sensors
- Cat converter not flowing
- Lead, Plugs, Air Filter, Oil clean
- Put injector cleaner in fuel
Any other suggestions?
it takes a while to get to a low reading u no? how many k's you do be4 u got 22km ? because it starts off a 99lt/100km and works its way down gradually

### you a funny **** deadset!
yea i drove for a good 30mins before i turned the car off after that.
exhaust leak or oxygen sensor would be my bet, hav u checked for error codes?
Yep comes up as 12
I think the leads and plugs might be the culprit
Where are the 02 sensors located?
Thanks mate
Anyone?
I will be buying a set of NGK spark plugs also. Do you think $100 for a set of 6 is a fair price for the 0.6mm Iridiums?
id say drive round for a few hours, highway with city
not 100% sure but i thought commy gaps were ment to be .08 ? not sure. any way the vs has 2 oxy sensors the vr has one, i think the vs ones are on either side of the headers? toward back of firewall or something. the vr one is down near the cat converter. but normally if its oxy sensors it wood show up as an error code, thermostat mite be stuck open making it think its always cold and pushing more fuel threw maybe?? but change the plugs and leads etc
there are places that can clean out all the carbon crap out of the engine, that could affecting.. just a thought.. my mate told me about @ his work and it improves fuel per kms
well is the trip computer actually accurate, how many k's are you gettin to the tank?
The trip computers fine. its gone down tro 21.9L now and thats driving the car for 3 days so yea there is a problem somwhere. Ill get the leads n plugs done and check the sensors.
Thanks Guy real help![]()
You can test your leads before you go buying a new set. Your spending your $ way to fast my friend. Do the cheap stuff first and work your way up.
I actually think its the leads/plugs cause one day i started the car and it was rough. I took it to my uncle who works for kmart tyre and auto and he told me one of the leads were shot and the car was running on 5 cyl he replaced the lead with a second hand one so ill replace them see what happens
