    Default 22L/100Kms?

    Hi guys

My statesman drinks like a mofo!

Its currently showing 22L per every 100kms its a standard V6 ecotec

It should be around the 10L mark what could be causing the excess fuel consumption?

    Cheers

    Yep comes up as 12

I think the leads and plugs might be the culprit

Where are the 02 sensors located?

    Thanks mate

    Anyone?

I will be buying a set of NGK spark plugs also. Do you think $100 for a set of 6 is a fair price for the 0.6mm Iridiums?

not 100% sure but i thought commy gaps were ment to be .08 ? not sure. any way the vs has 2 oxy sensors the vr has one, i think the vs ones are on either side of the headers? toward back of firewall or something. the vr one is down near the cat converter. but normally if its oxy sensors it wood show up as an error code, thermostat mite be stuck open making it think its always cold and pushing more fuel threw maybe?? but change the plugs and leads etc

You can test your leads before you go buying a new set. Your spending your $ way to fast my friend. Do the cheap stuff first and work your way up.

I actually think its the leads/plugs cause one day i started the car and it was rough. I took it to my uncle who works for kmart tyre and auto and he told me one of the leads were shot and the car was running on 5 cyl he replaced the lead with a second hand one so ill replace them see what happens
