removing silver boot strip

gday, just wanted to know how to remove the silver boot strip thats inbetween ur tail lights, seen a few cars without it der and some1 on ere just said paint it. Whats tha go just rip it of?? any1 done dis will it leave marks?

umm, i imagine you mean the boot garnish?...if so its not goin to rip off, although that would be funny to see.
you need to unbolt it from inside the boot lid, there's also some wiring to unplug for the number plate light...which brings me to why its not a good idea to take the garnish off...you'll get pulled up for not having a light on your number plate, plus the holes left behind will look weird and let water in.
