sounds like a good idea mate, cheap mods are they way :P
Did you have any pictures there?
yeh im keen 2 see!
OH, wasnt what i was thinking, (wasnt sure what i was:P) that looks nuts, Checkerplate would probably be the "plastic metal looking stuff"
Nice work mate!
had trouble getn the pics up. they r up now so its all good. yer the plastic metal stuff is checker plate. i couldnt remember what it was called
how did u get the original stuff out?? coz i wanted to do this but couldnt get the stuff out!
Haha yeh it wont come out normally. i had to cut a long one of the lines, rip out the fabric and the stuffing underneath it, then glue in the new stuff. i used a stanley knife to cut out the fabric
looks good man, are you going to do anywhere else?...like the floor or something?
pretty sweet![]()
yer that would be sweet, doing some on the floor so it all ties inthat would look nice

looks alright m8 good mod maybe u could put black lining around the edges so looks a bit more neat
If you want to take it out properly you'll first have to remove the door trim. Once the door trim is off look on the back side and you'll see the crappy factory sound deadening/padding material. I've gotten rid of this on mine because i've put down sound deadener, but there are a couple of bendable metal pieces that hold the door fabric insert in there that you can take out from the back. They're sort of like the metal clips you sometimes see used in folders to hold a whole bunch of loose A4 sleeves in which you'd chuck sheets of paper in to protect them. The ones how they just fold down. Cheers, Bryce.Originally Posted by Disturbed_vegeta
Oh cool, yeh i wanted to know that too, i have taken the whole door trims off, but didnt want to take that foam stuff off the back, incase u couldnt undo that trim piece of from behind
yeah... that cruddy stock sound deadener stuff if you rip it off you can probably just chuck it back on with some glue if your not planning on sound deadening your doors. In my case i didn't have to put it back on because the doors are now sound deadened with dynamat, but up to you. Cheers, Bryce.
Doors look sweet mate
No offence i dont like that at all just my opinion but ur taking the luxry out of holden by replacing it with cheap metal looking shit that has nothing in common with ur car try adding more features or getting proper trim leather then ur car will be pimpen
hey man, i like it, thinking about retrimming mine in the same sorta stuff but red to match the rest of the car/interior... have also thought about plain red material... havent decided yet, think the plain red material might look a little better, but i like yours![]()
i think its time for a dust out :P j/k
doesnt look bad![]()
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.
personally, im not for the 'luxury' theme with my car. im more of a ricer and im going for the white/silver/metal/chrome look. not every one buys the commodore for a luxury car- just have a look around the site. my bodykit should be going on in a couple of weeks. when i get it on, ill have silver/chrome grills and ill be working on the interior more when i get time.Originally Posted by Joey_18
the style does kind of follow through with the colour schemes and all, but i havnt finished modding my commy at all so you'l see... the theme will continue through the whole car.... eventually (money is a MAJOR issue)
heres some pics of the colour schemes so far... (chrome tail lights, clear indicators, chrome exhaust tip, painted some of interior silver and just for the sake of it ill throw in a pic of the body kit-unfortunately still in a box in shed, )
hehehe
if u want ur car 2 look like a ricer y didnt u buy a jap car instead
It doesnt look to bad im not a big fan of the fake checker plate but i think you have pulled it off well.
come on everyone look for the ricer in you. i kno its there
lol yeh!Originally Posted by hayds_12
i didnt buy a jap car because to buy something with a bit of stock power cheap is almost impossible... and trying to find something with a decent body shape
hehehe
looks good when u put the kit on can i have pics of how u screw yours on as i have the same and the back and sides are starting to come offOriginally Posted by 94vrexec
