vs v8 manual strong?

i got vs clubby manual someone said if i supercharged or something it would **** gearbox they said they cant take that much power is that true?

i had a mate who supercharged his VT Senator (with a couple of other mods too) and then after that he could travel 180 in 4th piece of piss...but 5th gear just didnt work...the car just idled when he changed into 5th. So maybe the gearbox cant handle the power
