hi, could any1 please explain to me what a pan hard barbushes are and how to fit them? Because his car failed an inspection and they said that that needs to be replaced. If any1 could please help him out by giving him a step by step guide on how to replace them. Thanks ~ Craig.

Thepanhard rod basically stops the rear axle from moving sideways and the bushes are pressed into each end so that the rod is flexible. It is that long rod that goes from the lower part of the drivers side of the back axle to the opposite side but this side is bolted to the body. You are best buying a panhard rod with the bushes fitted already. To remove you simply unbolt the nut and washer on the diff and the nut and bolt from the body end. You need the car on stands and also a jack under the diff to stop it moving. Have a look at the bushes and if you think you can remove then go ahead as it will be cheaper this way. If you can get the old ones out then it is not too much drama pressing new ones in with soap and water and a vice. Maybe you could get a good one from the wrecker. Good Luck.
