VR Fuel Pump Removal

G'day all,

I'm trying to replace the fuel pump in my sons VR sedan. Can anyone tell me how to disconnect the quick release for the fuel return hose in the tank from the fuel pump/sender unit assembly??

which clip are you talking about, sure its a vr? the vt onwards have a strange retaining system for the filter and pump, you have to push forward, squeeze, then pull back!(sounds like what i did to my miss' last night HAHA)

There is a rubber hose insid the fuel tank for the fuel return. It's the connector that connects that to the fuel pump/sender unit assembly. I have a Gregory's manual for the car, and it shows a tool to manufacture out of some 2 mm rod to release the quick connect. I've done that, but It doesn't seem to want to release.
