i used normal 5mm led's 10,000mCD.
Theres a place in sydney called Oatley Electronics that has packs of 10 LEDs for $4. Plus you will also need some resistors

Hey,

Is it just a matter of replacing the 2 globes with LED's, or do you need to somehow gain access inside the unit, and replace globes on the inside? Mine doesn't work at all, so was wondering if there were a 3rd globe somewhere?

Cheers

there are 2 long globes (1.5cm tubes) up the top for lighting the screen and 2 smaller globes for lighting the buttons.

the unit is easy to pull apart. The front is held on by 3 little clips either side, and then there are just a few screws holding the buttons in place
