i have a 95 Vs Commodore.... Oil light is on... ticking... only when the car gets warm.... oil level fine.... turn the car off...start immediately.... car is fine.... engine is still warm.. no ticking.

1 if it was just a physical problem why does it reset when i turn the car off..... and 2.... why does it start ticking faster and slower with the idle?

:b: :b: :b:

any 1 plz help

Check sensors, not sure which one. I had problems starting, fan running in cold starts, smoking black and after warm up, just restart the car and it was fine. I thought mechanical, but a bit of investigating and it narrowed dows to a $14 temperature sensor (ECM), and yes it was causing all the trouble.

sounds like the oil pump or pickup is cactus, or you have a block in an oil gallery

the lifters will tick if they are dry

when the oil warms up it gets thinner and flows better

best bet to fix it would be to do an oil+filter change, use a good semi-synthetic like Valvoline durablend, if this doesnt resolve it, change the oil pump and/or sender

had exactly the same issue with my old suzuki swift, i never got it fixed

You could try some Nulon lifter free. If the hydraulic lifters aren't working properly they can make a ticking noise. About $12 a bottle, apparently it works. I need to get some for my car as well.

As haloeight said, oil and filter change. It really should be done every six months. If its still noisy, get the lifter free. No need to spend more money than you need to.

the vr is a 13 year old car now

so these sorts of issues start to become common
