VR 5 Speed Wagon & VS Auto Wagon & 98 VS Statesman
Well i just couldn't help myself, i just returned from Brisbane this morning after taking delivery of yet another Holden ( thats 3 at Present) . I brought a 1998 VS series 2 Statesman complete with a 5lt V8 with a genuine 114980 klm on the clock for $9000.
Does anybody know of any known problems with this model?

engine mounts disintegrate and cause vibrations
some cars have issues with the rear camber
power steering leaks
rust forms on the inside corners of the tailgate

not many other niggly ones, theyre not a bad unit

Sounds like a great car and the Statesman looks really up-market - is it a 97 as I think thats when the last VS was made except for the utes.

it's actually a 3/98 model and drives really well........ hmmmmm a bit of food for thought i wonder if i could convert it to a 5 speed, that would be different but i don't think my wife will like the idea too much though

cars are just so cheap in Brisbane compared to up north, there was a statesman for sale up here, it was a 96 model v6 with 174000 on the clock and the car yard wanted 15000 for it

You're right about prices in Townsville Mal, I seriously thought about flying to Brissie or Sydney to save maybe 40% but was a bit worried about driving an untested car all the way back. And the yards never want your trade-in!

well i wont sell a car in brissie cause they will give you jack **** for it, you are better off selling it privately in Townsville with the higher prices and going to brissy with cash, my statesman has increased $5000 from the purchase price to the insured market value, should it ever get written off i will never loose money
