Hi All,
Can anyone suggest to me a decent place in the north/north-west Brisbane that will diagnose and repair my auto gearbox? I'm in Germany at the moment and it's fairly hard to research from here due to the time difference and I can't drive around to a heap of shops checking them out. I want to get my younger brother to take it and I don't want him to get fleased by some shady dealer.
much appreciated!
Aidan

I'm not in Brisbane and the only things I can suggest is that your brother says that the car is his fathers and that he insists on a written quote of whats wrong with the gearbox and what are the repair options. Don't necessarily go for the cheapest option if you want a good job. Also your brother could ring the RACQ for advice. Also find if the warranty is Australia wide and that the repairers are members of the auto recond trade assn (dunno name but they have a sign at member workshops). Think you'll find they will say it is buggered and suggest a reco swap at about $2000.(seems to be standard practice). Good Luck.
Tell him to go to Apex in the city think they do a service for $140 and provide a report on the gearbox. Pulling them appart is a few bucks it just depends what's wrong as to wether or not you need a replacement / rebuild
thanks for the tip guys - I'll let you know how it goes
