Like that but rounded at the front (fits with the rounded look of the car). Then make the opening narrow to fit with the narrow head lights and grill. Keep the hump of the scoop going till the back of the bonnet and leave the sides on the same angel as the lines in the bonnet. Sorry I can only describe it as i am no good with a computer or pencil.

yeah I think I know what your getting at slundy !!! something like a viper bonnet ?? maybe do something like the pontiac below ??? I dont really like the Monaro bonnets cause they dont suit the lines of the car IMO.

I'm so hopeless at photochopping aswell... I'd like a back openning on the scoop so it vents hot air out off the blower as it's cooled from the front.

Yeah like that sixshooter but with a narrow opening. I think that would suit better than anything else.

Bonnet flutes would be more effective if heat extraction is wat ur after. Use the lower air pressure created over the bonnet of ur car when driving to withdraw the heat. Hot air rises naturally, why try to blow hot air down over ur engine with a bonnet scoop.......??? Asshole ya self!!!

Slow VR has it the nail on the head if you really wanna actually extract the heat from your engine a flute is the way to go. A scoop is can be used as a CAI in some applications.

However it is possible that a scoop can be used for cooling, for instance a WRX uses a scoop to pass air through the intercooler.

Nice, looks good! also looks like you have the best of both worlds there, looks like that scoop also has an opening at the back letting air pass straight through...

This is true for SA. Forward facing bonnet scoops are illegal. In WA apparently its backwards facing scoops are illegal... Total opposite!

so, you can have a rearward facing scoop as long as it has protection no more than 60mm. ???

Yeah I'd like to know how those bug catchers on WRX's got through if you're not allowed forward facing scoops.

I guess its ok if its stock. Like the Honda Odysseys etc. with those blue parker lights. From the SA guidelines:
The fitting of forward opening bonnet scoops, which have the potential to increase injuries to pedestrians in collisions, for example forward opening "letter box" style, are not acceptable.
