Having another minor dilema (in among the rest of them), my ute decided to stop the other day as i was leaving the driveway. I rolled it back home and checked the error codes and got a 49 out of it and then reset the cpu and ran it again and got a 47. Both these codes refer to the crank and or cam angle sensors. Have played around with it since and the symptoms are as follows.....starts at the the first hit of the key, runs prefectly (idles etc. can rev it normally) and everything seems fine but after a while any attempt to rev it makes it start missing until it dies with a substantial backfire. After it dies it will restart perfectly again no dramas but the same thing happens all over again, will idle fine but carries on with throttle applied. Have tried swapping computers and my fuel reg shows full pressure at all times (about 45 psi). Thought it may be the CAS but it starts everytime no worries. I have no idea so any educated opinions would be appreciated.
Not a blocked catalytic convertor? Or the DFI failing.
CAS will do weird things. Would definatly be looking at getting it replaced. If its not the cas it could be the coil packs, dfi module, connector on the dfi module or ecu. But i would bet it will be the CAS.
played around with a bunch of things but it looks like it was a bad connection somewhere between the CAS and the computer.
I just changed my CAS other day. There was alot of metalic fragments clinging to the middle slat of the sensor(im guessing interrupting the signal). After replacing it i havent got a error 47 as of yet. But im still having problems starting my car up![]()
Replacing it will set you back a few hrs and alot of swearing and beers, but rather save yourself $200 in mechanics labour fee's :P
