Hey people,
just goin over my engine today and discovered a split hose, that connects from the throttle body to the inlet manifold. My car has been idling rough for a while and im wondering could this be the problem?
Quite possibly. Take the hose off and give it a good wrapping of electrical or gaffa tape covering every part of the split. Replace and see of that helps.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho

You tried it yet? Lets us know the outcome.Originally Posted by 94SVR

The proper solution would be to replace the damaged hose. Vacuum hose is like $3 per metre from super cheap in all different sizes so no excuses for not doing the job properly. Recent did the same on mine. The hose from the throttle body to the boost bypass valve was split. Slightly improved fuel economy and smoother idle.

hey everyone,
i taped up the hose (its the PCV) temporarily till i get another one, noticied better fuel economy, idle problem still remains not as bad though, will change the fuel filter on the weekend and see how it goes then

try that mate, u might find by doing that ur idle will sit nice

give the TB a good clean also, a can of carb cleaner works well but it's better to remove the TB to do that. make sure the passages for the IAC are clean
