Spool is the spoiler on the boot I assume, I personally like the SS wing with wheels looks good, some people put Clubby wings on stock and they look shocking.

New diff? why would you need one?

I'm not sure what kind of spool we are talking about!

if it's the spool thta locks your diff, then read below:

    how do you drive it?
how much are you willing to spend on tyres?
how much are you willing to avoid tight turns with coppers around?
how skilled do you think you are at handling a VERY tailhappy car in the wet?
are you willing to risk not being covered by insurance in an accident?
are you willing to risk getting canaried for the diff?

Some of the questions you should be asking yourself when considering a spool

If we're talking about spoilers then disregard everything mentioned above.

    yeah i have a spool....

i got the spool because the LSD's I had were getting rebuilt every month or so......

from personal experience i can say:

    bad points
    - crapped out rear trailing arm bushes
    - not many other people can drive the car properly (or can be trusted with it)
    - crazy tire wear
    - leaving black lines anywhere you park on concrete (you should see the carpark at my work!!!)

    GOOD POINTS:
    - 50/50 power distribution (great for launches!!)
    - very predictable once sideways
    - ALWAYS spins two wheels (you know where it's going to go when you mash the gas)

in a standard car, there is not much need for a spool unless you are planning to go out and do burnouts left right and centre....

and you'll save yourself a lot of money on tyres and bushes if you stick with the standard diff.

if your still going to get a new diff, an lsd would be sufficient for giving you relitively even distribution to the rears, without the hassles of a mini spool.
