Air Bag Light

Just wondering what I can check myself before I take it to the dealership. Air bag light stays on constantly while key is on and while driving. Any help please

Do a search cause we have gone over it in a bit of detail previously. Things I would check are fuses under steering wheel. Also there is a bright yellow wire and connector near the fuses which is the main signal wire for the air bag. Make sure thats tight. You can try disconnecting the battery for say 20 mins, just to be sure, and seeing if that does it, but from what I remember the only way is to get a dealer to clear it or if there is a problem, get it properly fixed.

kopper69 is correct - the only way to clear the light is by someone with a scanner - some auto elects can do it or a dealer. You probably turned the ignition on whilst disconnecting something under the dash. All it means is that your airbag is now disconnected/isolated for whatever reason but generally its due to finger trouble.

My Airbag light is on.

When I took it to my dealer, they scanned it with Tec2 and found 'the side airbags were down or low" - I don't have side airbags.

So they suggested I take it to a dealer with Tec1. Same thing.

My VS is 2000 model, I wonder if the factory fitted a different module or the previous owner (who did left the car very standard)

That seems a strange fault but I know very little about airbags - the same apparently as GMH!
Did the dealer suggest a fix.....modules are very expensive as are any airbag parts....but then so is life.
