Arrow List Of Exhaust Quotes - no it's not another exhaust question:)

Hey guys,

I have recently done a ring around for quotes for my car. I know heaps of people (yes I have done it as well ) ask about exhaust setups and prices etc. So I have decided to put a list of the quotes I received (all in the melbourne area) to maybe help out some of you! The quotes are for pacemaker extractors (unless otherwise stated), 2 ½” mandrel cat back system, and are for a VS V6 auto with NON IRS.

Some include a tip, some don’t (I can’t remember exactly which ones did). I hope this helps people out

Dandy Exhaust (9794 7632)
$920

Clayton Exhaust Centre (9543 4711)
$1200

Bay City Exhaust (9786 8888)
$1155

Rex’s Exhaust (9792 4053)
$850 with Pacemaker or $780 with Hitech Extractors

Glenroy Exhaust Centre (9308 0310)
$1050

XR Performance (9791 8945)
$920

Kleenflo Exhaust (59951096)
$1000 (Genie Extractors)

Midas Mufflers – Frankston (9770 1985)
$950

Performance Exhaust (9350 3734)
$900 (Genie Extractors)

BTW I am getting mine done at XR performance in dandenong next week. Will let you know how it all goes........

nice work dude, im sure this will help out some folks. from my experience getting quotes the difference in price between stores is usually made up by what sort of cat back they use. most places have a system they will commonly use if you dont otherwise specify.

Yeah that's what I found out when I asked further questions. To fit the extractors was virtually the same all round.......but the cat backs ranged from $280ish to $500. It can be a confusing process when you have no idea about all the lingo

Unfortunetly if you got those prices over the fone most mean ****. I know for a fact that if you go in and talk to the blokes 9 times outta 10 they will do a better price.
Glenroy quoted me $450 for my cat back, yet when I went in it was $400 with a tip.

So should I ask for a better price when I get it done even though it's already booked in for $920???

To late now, by booking the car in you have agreed to the quote they gave you. Next time go in and ask for the best price they can do.

Thought that would be the case. Ah well, still was one of the better quotes I got and should be a quality system.

Yeah I agree with Airstrike. If you go in in person you can get a better deal, especially when buying a full system (headers and exhaust).

Dude...Ebay. Pacemakers, hi flow cat and Redback 2.5 inch exhaust (non IRS) for under $800. Is not that hard to fit the gear yourself either. All you need is some spanners, maniseal and a couple of hours spare time.

Only idiots buy Ebay exhausts.

You do realise they charge you for fitting at exhaust stores as well? You can just get an exhaust or headers supply only and you will get it CHEAPER than you would off Ebay.

Ebay exhausts are a rip off and his prices are for mandrel bent exhausts which the Ebay exhuasts are not.

Ebay prices:
Pacemakers for a VS V6: $454 + $35 postage
PRESS BENT Redback Exhaust: $350 + $20 postage
Total price = $859 UNFITTED...press bent not mandrel bends like the above quotes... Also the headers dont come with a Y peice I dont think.

I got a set of stainless pacemakers (including Y piece), hi-flow cat and a mandrel bent 2.5 inch system for $600 off Ebay. The system came off a VR that had a 5 litre conversion so the V6 system was no longer needed. If you buy the componants seperatly from different sellers, yes you can get stung, but if you look around, you can pick up a bargain.
