i have a 1998 series II vs 5.0L statesman and when i turn my lights on im getting a warning light, read in the book its suppose to mean that your tail light or break lights are blown but both my tail lights and my break lights work so yeah no idea why this is on any ideas ? oh and it turns off when i put my foot on the breaks
i had the same problem with my stato, i found out that my licence plate globes were blown so i had them replace an another one could be that the wiring may be loose in the brakelights. hope this helps in some way
in life some people need a little guidance, others just need a good kick
ah sweet thanks dude that didnt even enter my head just checked it then and one of the licence plate globes are blown
check your front parkers as well they should be on the same circuit
changed the bulb, i think ive got a short somewhere i noticed when you turn the lights on the break light in the parcel shelf stays on with it and gets unbelivably hot and then the tail lights are starting to cycle and go stupid
well i had a look i cant find any split wires this is sending me insane, it only does it when the headlights are on, the breaks function properly when they are off
Mine does the exact same thing. But I have no bulbs out. I'd like to know also what the problem is.![]()
im taking it to the auto electrician next pay day hopefully they can sort it out
some the bulb fillaments touch in the combo brake/tail bulbs and that causes the tail lights to come on with the brake lights and vice versa. it can also cause dash lights to come on. I would pull the brake light bulbs out and try one at a time to see if they are causing the prob.
just to close the thread and maybe help some people out
the auto electrician ripped me off something chronic charged me $70 to "clean" the contacts it started doing it again few days later so i called them and they told me oh your looms must be faulty bring it back and we will put new ones in, i ended up buying two new looms from holden installed them myself and havent had trouble since
