Question VS S2 drivetrain into S1 - any issues / thoughts

    Hi,
I am planning to put a series II drivetrain ( V6,4s auto & diff ) into a series I - both utility bodies. Has anyone any experiences , thoughts or issues that they could share ? TIA Greg

My only comment is: "why would you bother". Naturally if yours is stuffed and you can get a series 2 cheap then thats understandable. Thats a big job as it includes the ECU, BCM and 'maybe' some altered wiring as the cooling fans were 2 speed in the series 11 plus some other little things.

series I is high k's ( 400k ), noisy diff, slipping trans, ???motor but has good body - thats why the swap is on ! series II is insurance writeoff ( 197k ) that has severe body damage - but drivetrain looks OK ! Even if I only get the diff out of S II I will be in front $$$ - the trans oil looks pretty good and the motor could not be much worse.

Sounds like you have got a good deal. Good Luck.

Should be no dramas if your replacing the entire drivetrain.
