VR Berlina Project
I am thinking of buying a VR Berlina 6. I want to put a V8 into it. Does anyone know any shops or mechanics where you can buy a v8 engine. I am trying to price the project.

so you dont have this car yet? why not just buy a V8 and save yourself alot of hassle and money? sorry, but it doesnt make sense to me to buy a car with a V6, with the direct intention of putting a V8 into it.

Yeah I know, but I was thinking of putting a Chev 6.0Lt Gen 3 into it. I found a place on the net that sells them for 7 grand. I saw a berlina for $2300. I'm just wondering what kind of money figure I would be looking at to have the engine put in as well as other parts that would need to be changed such as brakes and transmission?

i brought my vs bt1 5l for $5500 it not worth it to do what you are contemplating
Hmmm i dont really think its worth it like these other guys have said but hey buddy if thats what you wanna do then dont listen to any of us. I think it would be an awsome project just make sure if you do it all you post some pics and details of it all for us : )
ah, well you shoud have said you were wanting to put an LS1 in it! lol, thats a different story altogether really.
expensive process though, im not too sure on everything you'd need, but ive heard its very costly....i thought there was a place that made a "kit" to be able to retro fit LS1's into vn-vs's, maybe someone else can confirm that or not.
Yeah I'm tryimg to get a rough figure on cost before I do anything. It would be good if there was a place that was doing the conversions. I am going to have to sell the vt though!!

If you take the 6 litre project on, prepare to pay for engineering certificates. You'd be better off sticking a worked Group A from a VN in it.
