    Default Replacing Bumper and Fender

    Hi guys,
Couldn't find any info on this anywhere but if u find it just post a link thanks.
I am replacing the front bumper and front left fender on my vs equipe series 2. Also need to replace the lh front indictor and i thought while i'm at it i might as well replace my bent power antenna. Just wondering how i go about removing the pin stripe thing with commodore on it and the holden badge and sticking back onto the new fender. I read about sikaflex on here but where do you purchase this? Super cheap or repco or something? And does it have to be this or is there and easy to find alternative that will work just as good? Also will the strip come off the bumper easily so it can be glued onto the new one or should i just leave the front with no strip and no badge altogether?

Also how easy is it to remove the power antenna and fit a new one and if anyone has done this before would u recommond it or something that should never be attempted? HAHA Any hints or tips or things i should aviod or not forget when disconnecting and connecting the new one?

Am going to order the parts to be painted tomorrow and should have them by fri ready to fit so any help asap would be great. Thanks for any help in advance guys.

If your old guards and bumper are to dumped then you could apply heat to the opposite side to melt the glue they use to stick the trims on. Sikaflex is available from Bunning or any Hardware/motor shop. The power antenna should be just plug in connectors.
There are posts on removing the strips as well.
    Good Luck.

    Question Sikaflex

    Thanks for that,
Just been googling sikaflex and it looks like there are a few diff types and numbers etc. What is the most common one? Any recommondations before i head down to bunnings in the morning and have to stand there for an hour reading all the packs? HAHA what section of bunnings? With the glues?

With the paints and glue cartridges at Bunnings - they will only carry one or two types of Sikaflex and as long as it says adhesive you will be right. Dunno the number as I'm a tight-ass and buy cheaper types! If its like the Townsville Bunnings there will be a few under 20 female staff members assisting in that section. I hate to admit it but they know their stuff.

in my opinion debadging is the way to go..get rid of the black stripes around the car..and get all the badges off

..but i warn you..removing the black stripes on the door and removing the commodore badge on the fenders are not EASY and they do not come off clean..the glue they use to put it on called 'sikaflex' is a biiotch to take off..dere is no chemical way to take it off..you may caramel wheel it off or grind it..buh if u grind it off ur most likely lookin at a new paint job for the doors

BUT if you take ur time and patience the sika flex may come off along with the stripe remove it slowly

    Unhappy Crash Repairers

Decided to suck in my pride and go to the crash repairers... I found out there are alot more things i needed to do such as straightening the inner guard and rad supports which is way too much work for me. Oh well there goes another grand from my bank account!

it may be cheaper to purchase a used guard rather than having it beating back to shape...search ebay..i picked 1 up for 40 bux..or search wreckers and do the prep work and find a decent spray painter
