Hi,
I recently made thread not long ago about fitting 19"s on my VS. But in March I have to go to Adelaide S.A to see my mates and my uncle.
So the question is - Due to S.A rules about vehicles not allowed to fit wheels 2"s bigger than what said on the tire placard. So by the time I get there my car will have 19"s on already, so will I be exempted from this rule in S.A when I get there??? - Or will I have to fit smaller wheels during that trip??
Thanks guys - better ask than getting busted over there!!
As far as I know because your licence and car is registered outside of S.A then you are fine and exempt from the rules.
Not 100% sure, but i would say that if u did get pulled up and the cop saw you werent from SA they wouldnt bust you. You could ring up before you go to check if you are that worried.
Do you know who I should ring up?? Or is there any info on the net??
Well my mate (fr adel.) went on a trip to Vic. He got pulled over is way back (in Vic) in his VN Calais and got done for 18 inch wheels and too low.
Just to be on the safe side i'd slap on some smaller wheels just in case. Personally i'd hate to be hassled interstate about mods on my car.
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

It depends if you can get done for other things too. If thats all that can be defected on your car the cops generally wont start looking for defects. I have 18s amd I have only lowered it a bit. Everything else is standard. When I have been pulled over the cops have just had a quick look and let me go.
If you have a mad loud exhaust and its fairly low theyll prob pull you over and do you for the lot including the wheels. Although my brother used to get his VR defected all the time and they never did him for his wheels. And cops hated him.
Then again you may get away with it because you are registered interstate.
My understanding is that because your car is registered interstate and your primary residence is also there it would be exempt from our laws. The same thing applies for us Adelaide'ans who go to Vic on our P's, even though we may be under 18 and thus cant get them in Vic we are on S.A licences and thus are exempt.
They don't have a leg to stand on mate just leave your 19 on
