    Cool Workshop Manuals on CD

Howdy there all, has anyone purchased any of the workshop manuals on CD from Ebay? The people selling them (for all Commodores) say they are very comprehensive and they are the same as the dealers use at their service/repair centres.
I have ordered one for a VS and a VT. They cover the full range from sedan/wagonss and utes. At just $8.95 it is a lot cheaper than a $50 Book type manual. It will be here sometime this week so I will do another post when I have had a look at it... Cheers to all Jurasic

Im interested to know what it contains. I got a manual on cd from one of the members on here once who was selling them. Gave a couple of copies away. I had a look, nothing special though. Had to do an install, would have preferred a pdf or similar. Nothing compared to the gregorys. No wiring diagrams or anything like that. Let me know if your's comes with wiring diagrams. The ellery manual is available on cd, but sells for $54 + $10 postage. Would take the book personally.

I bought one for my wife's VW New Beetle - it contained info on how to change the oil and specs on the car - cost $14.95. Basically I was ripped off.
If it is a copy of an official one then beware.
Also, you cannot carry your CD down to the car to thumb thru the pages. Think about it - are you going to rush back to the PC to check if that bolt is LH or RH?
But some seem to be lucky....maybe it wasn't my turn.

Good point hako, when I work on my car, my hands get filthy. My workshop manual is covered in whatever I am working on at the time. I would rather that than my computer.

Not the same. Its time consuming for one. Cost is another. Its messy. Its just inconvenient, but hey, if it works for you, not my place to say.

Just seems too good to be true. But, if it works then go for it. Dunno about 5000 pages - thats bigger than the bible!

Hako, ask me about a topic about the car, and i'll see what info I can get from it from my cd. Just to see if this kind of thing would be what your'e after.

OK - wheel nut tension for factory alloy rims and the same for standard steel rims (VS2)

This looks like the one I have been using for years. It's very good value, particularly since the VS manuals are actually supplements to the VR manuals. If you were purchasing the books you would need both the VR and VS manuals for them to be of any use. About eight manuals for each at $60-80 per manual. Unfortunately my version of the CD doesn't have the wiring diagrams.

What do you mean for the harnesses? Are they complete wiring diagrams, as in every wire in the car drawn where it is going and connected to?

I use mine on a laptop and slip a layer of glad wrap over the keys.
Its better by far than the book and if you open the right pages you can tile them.
    4 pages at once
