g'day all ive just noticed that when im in reverse and i change into drive after coming to a stop, it sort of shudders a bit, im just wondering what it is thats making it do that?

is it a shudder or a like a clunk?

it sort of jolts and the revs drop then pick up

sounds like a worn trans. maybe give it a service. the older the trans gets, it takes longer for it to change gears. in a new trans it will change on about 0.5 sec. in an older one it could take up to 2.5 seconds to engage. if you accellerate before it has gone into gear when it does it will jolt badly. hope this helps

A service may fix it. Sounds like the shift solenoid is sticking and the pressure build up is making the pump work a bit harder resulting in a slight drop in revs.
